The Virginia Funders Network was born from a belief in the power of collaboration. Our strength and effectiveness come directly from the diverse and valued insights, wisdom, perspectives, and dedication of over 130 funders all across the Commonwealth who comprise our network. Our work is guided by our vision, mission and values and our most recent Strategic Framework (2023-2025).

Community

We value community, collegiality, and the transformative power of conversation. We intentionally foster a connected, collaborative, and respectful community where members feel comfortable supporting, encouraging, inspiring, and challenging each other.

We unapologetically value the diversity of our membership. From personal demographics to geographic location to organizational type to philanthropic philosophy, we intentionally seek diverse perspectives to inform, drive, and lead our work.

STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK

In 2022, after a 10-month, member-driven strategic planning process, VFN released our first-ever Strategic Framework. More than 80% of VFN’s then member organizations provided ideas and input to shape this plan which will drive VFN’s work over the next few years.
