NETWORKING GROUPS

CONNECT & LEARN

Virginia Funders Networking Groups offer members the opportunity to interact and connect with fellow funders with similar interests. Participation in our Networking Groups is open to the staff, board members, and consultants of member organizations.

VFN’s Networking Groups offer members the opportunity for:

  • Networking and building relationships with fellow funders investing in Virginia.
  • Hearing and learning from experts.
  • Sharing information and ideas with peers.
  • Finding inspiration and encouragement for their unique work.
  • Exploring opportunities to partner with other Virginia funders on key challenges and opportunities to better the lives of Virginians.
  • Helping identify pressing policy issues and be part of the Virginia philanthropic sector’s collective voice in advocating for change.
  • Providing input for VFN member-wide programming.

Who can participate?

Participation in VFN’s Networking Groups is open to the staff members, board members, and consultants of member organizations. Groups may decide, on occasion, to invite guests or open specific events to the broader community for learning opportunities, dialogue, and information sharing.

What is the cost?

Participation in Networking Groups is included as a benefit of VFN membership. No additional financial support is required to operate and manage a group unless the group would like to, for example, commission research, advance an advocacy agenda, or hire a consultant to support its work. In these instances, the group is responsible for securing the necessary financial resources to cover its additional costs. While funding will most likely come from group members, not all members are required to contribute. Participation in Networking Groups is open to all VFN members as a benefit of membership and groups cannot require additional funding in order to participate.

I liked the informality, the structure of the meeting, and that now I feel like I can easily contact any of these folks to ask questions and collaborate.
